1510 | ESTRELLA | Valen II reaches the age of majority, but he feels trapped in his father's legacy, and show's no interest in ruling. He tours the kingdom playing music while others make decisions in his place.
1519 | GLOBAL | The Aztec Empire are at their peak as the Spanish arrive.
1520 | PURATOVA | The nation of Puratova is created in the north by the charismatic King Rinteroth. It mostly consists of areas formerly held by the northern tribes, and the early years of Razenova.
1521 | PURATOVA | King Rinteroth begins to spread the sentiment that Estrella is a threat to the northern way of life. He belittles Valen II for being weak, and insults Estrellan culture. Estrella do not respond to his comments.
1523 | PURATOVA | Grants are offered for traditional arts such as tapestry weaving, fire-dancing, bone carving, and balladry. Concrete architecture and attempts to capture realism in paintings are seen as bland and uncreative by the king's court.
1525 | ESTRELLA | In response to ongoing calls to take a more active part in ruling the empire, Valen II launches an invasion of Portugal despite the strong discouragement of his advisors. This invasion is quickly bought to an end due to the intervention of Charles I of Spain.
1526 | GLOBAL | Following his successful defence against Valen II's invasion, and his victory in the Battle of Pavia, Charles decides to marry Isabella of Portugal and create a formal alliance.
1529 | PURATOVA | A mass public of execution of rebellious nobles takes place. Crowds cheer when King Rinteroth comes out to condemn them to death. He announces an era of social mobility for brave warriors who will fight under his banner.
1530 | ESTRELLA | Valen II is reported to have made some incredibly insulting remarks about the followers of the Ascendency. Riots bring the kingdom to its knees, and he is forced to issue a very solemn apology.
1534 | PURATOVA | Many people rise in social rank during battles against former Razenovan territories. Many good soldiers become commanders, commanders become minor nobles, and many minor nobles join the upper echelons of society.
1541 | ESTRELLA | The kingdom only narrowly fights off an invasion by Puratova. Valen II refused to listen to his strategists, and is credited for several terrible battle decisions that almost lost the war.
1555 | ESTRELLA | Valen II dies of heart problems at 60. With the death of his father, Valen III ascends to the throne.
1570 | ESTRELLA | Valen III declares himself emperor begins his campaign to conquer the entire continent.
1574 | ESTRELLA | Xhakhoro and the Jumariyan plateau are fully conquered.
1578 | PURATOVA | King Rinteroth passes away at the age of 88. A month long period of mourning is helf before his son ascends to the throne. He is equally beloved by the people, but much more impulsive and rash.
1580 | ESTRELLA | The imperial palace is built in Krovare. The emperor chose the site for being near the continent's center, and being high up in the mountains, symbolizing the vast reach of the empire.
1582 | PURATOVA | The king is killed in a battle with Eitador. His younger brother, King Rinteroth's third son, takes the throne. The new king is inexperienced with ruling, and develops an intense anxiety about the invading armies of Estrella.
1586 | PURATOVA | The king abdicates, placing his cousin on the throne. He flees west, where he is captured and killed by bandits.
1587 | ESTRELLA | Estrella fully defeats Puratova. The continent of Eitador is now completely unified, for the first and only time, under Valen III.

1627 | ESTRELLA | Valen III passes away at the age of 92. He outlived all of his children, leaving no heir.
1628 | ESTRELLA | Relatives of the former king argue over who should be in charge. Nobody is able to unite the country behind them. There are numerous calls to overhaul the Estrellan system of government entirely, and to give more power to individual regions.
1630 | ESTRELLA | An agreement is struck to divide Estrella up into a number of smaller territories, to avoid a civil war. Relatives of the former king form Wesland, Middle Estrella, Nauticau, and Avosnia. They sell off areas of the former Xhahkoro and Puratova to local nobility, and almost all of the continent's most powerful families are satisfied with the division.

1637 | JUMARIYA | A huge famine sweeps across the nation. They are unable to secure good trade deals with their neighbors.
1642 | JUMARIYA | A second huge famine sweeps across the nation. People claim that the mountains of Jumariya must be cursed.
1650 | EITADOR | Piracy becomes a major problem for the continent, especially on the west coast.
1660 | WESLAND | King Harlos ascends to the throne. He openly claims that his adoptive father, the previous king of Wesland, made a terrible mistake by agreeing to the division of Estrella. He begins importing huge numbers of flintlock muskets from Europe for the first time.
1662 | NAUTICAU | Nauticau build large canal networds in many of their major coastal cities, particularly Meridore, which is a major center of art, culture, and tourism.
1665 | NAUTICAU | An international conference is held in Meridore. Almost every nation in Eitador agrees to sign a mutual defence pact in case of invasion by Wesland, or any outside force.
1667 | PURATOVA | Puratova exist once more as a single nation, when all the northern states vote for the return of the monarchy. They put a popular and beautiful queen on the throne, and start to stockpile weapons at an even faster rate than Wesland.

1669 | WESLAND | Wesland invade and capture Middle Estrella. Avosnia sends soldiers to help, but it's only a small fraction of their army. Jumariya send soldiers too, but they arrive too late, and then immediately retreat. Nobody else provides troops. Harlos executes everyone of Estrellan royal lineage that he manages to capture. Many followers of the Ascendency leave Korvaria and head east towards the countries that used to make up Xhahkoro.
1670 | BRIGHTFIRE | King Harlos of Wesland renames his territory to The Brightfire Empire, and declares himself emperor. He is intensely egotistical, and wants people to notice his conquests as his, and not an extension of Estrella.
1672 | EITADOR | Pirates capture the large islands on the west coast, which were mostly uninhabited. The Xhakhoro territories fail to react with any serious defence, making them look incredibly weak.
1673 | BRIGHTFIRE | Emperor Harlos conquers Nauticau and Avosnia. Once again, he massacres everyone of Estrellan royal lineage that he can capture, and proclaims that he has 'defeated history'. Some members of the royal family escape to Puratova, but they fade into irrelevance.
1675 | BRIGHTFIRE | An attempt is made to conquer territories in Xhahkoro, but it is stopped by the surprise intervention of Puratova. Harlos' son and heir is killed. Brightfire puts border expansion on hold to focus on developing the empire itself.
1677 | XHAHKORO | Xhakhoro confederates, at Puratova's insistence. The two nations sign a defence pact, and enjoy good relations and trade.
Jumariya was expected to join the confederation, but they withdrew at the last moment due to strong isolationist sentiment within the country.
1678 | XHAHKORO | The pirate republics off the coast of Xhakhoro are destroyed, with help from Puratova's navy.
1680 | BRIGHTFIRE | Emperor Harlos falls off of his horse during a hunting expedition. He is affected by severe neuralgia for the rest of his life, and turns to alcohol to cope.
1686 | BRIGHTFIRE | The first of the emperor's three daughters is born.
1688 | BRIGHTFIRE | Soldiers enter the grand temple of the ascendency near Korvaria. They demand that the temple form closer ties with the empire, and rid itself of 'pernicious foreign influence'.
1692 | BRIGHTFIRE | The wife of the emperor dies. It's rumoured that he pushed her down the palace stairs while drunk. He was distraught that she had failed to produce a new male heir.
1693 | BRIGHTFIRE | The emperor adopts a son and declares him the new heir, but he passes away within the year. The emperor has the boy's mother found and killed.
1697 | BRIGHTFIRE | Most decisions are now being made without the input of the emperor, who is normally either incoherent or in a fit of rage.
1709 | PURATOVA | The great frost of 1709 results in a famine that causes 200,000 deaths. People worry that Brightfire will attempt to invade Puratova while it is at its weakest.
1710 | BRIGHTFIRE | Emperor Harlos passes away at 81. His 24 year old daughter becomes Empress Mariana of Brightfire. She refuses to invade a country that is starving, instead opting to send food aid to the north.
1714 | XHAHKORO | Xhakhoro's largest Ascendency temples formally break away from the grand temple in Brightfire, claiming that the religious leaders there no longer accurately represent them or their movement.
1720 | PURATOVA | Puratova's main Ascendency temples sever ties with the grand temple.
1727 | PURATOVA | Puratova assist Britain in preventing Spain from capturing Gibraltar.
1730 | BRIGHTFIRE | Brightfire gains a reputation for having some of the best opera houses in the world. Many members of the European elite travel to Eitador, and this helps to spread the genre known as opera seria.
1732 | BRIGHTFIRE | The Empress decides to tour Europe, where she has incredible popularity. She doesn't return to Brightfire for a few years.
1745 | BRIGHTFIRE | Brightfire's Empress is given the blessing of the holy temple. They pledge their allegiance to the empire, and claim that all Ascendency followers should.
1760 | XHAHKORO | Xhakhoro shocks the world by granting the right to vote to women and poor people. Critics label the nation 'the peasant republic', and they mock it for the weakness of its noble class.
1772 | BRIGHTFIRE | Empress Mariana passes away at 86. She has a huge state funeral, attended by many foreign dignitaries. Her son takes over from her, but he mostly only does whatever his advisors tell him to do.
