The Knightly Poem of Hale

The Knights of Hale are schooled in Eitadorian polytheism and are privy to many tales of the gods and their servants that are not heard elsewhere. They are a very secretive society who do not want outsiders knowing their many rituals and songs. One small fragment of a song that is widely known, however, is the first verse of The Knightly Poem of Hale. It is always sung in the original Estrellan and appears to function as a kind of battle prayer.

Vur spiriti nova ceume.
Vur spiriti illuca nox.
Vur spiriti destrei omna maleume.
Vur spiriti minera doxe.
Miendu vu ectea terra omi caramo,
Vu harveume spiriti cavallo.

Trans.
Your spirit knows the way.
Your spirit illuminates the night.
Your spirit destroys all wickedness.
Your spirit serves the gods.
For as long as you exist on the face of the earth,
You shall have the spirit of a warrior.
